π΅ As one of the co-organizers of the 2017 NazΔ±m Hikmet Poetry Festival (held in Cary, NC, every April), I asked Can to photograph our event and, if possible, shoot a short video that we could publish on our website and social media accounts. She went above and beyond, not only posting her beautiful images on social media and Freelight's website but also giving me a nicely-packaged set of DVDs with dozens of photos and TWO videos she had put together using footage from the event. We have already posted everything she documented on our social media accounts and the response has been great! She did a wonderful job making me feel comfortable in the studio photos and then shared her beautiful backyard to take some outdoor shots. But what I love the best is her ability to capture the moment on film of people- she had given us treasures of our children through her photographic artistry. We use her for all our special occasions when family gathers!

π΅ We had the good fortune of meeting Can through our kids - her daughter was in our son's class a few years ago, and we would occasionally get these candid photos from class events, etc., that were incredible images of our son. She's an excellent photographer in the sense of her ability to use lighting to her advantage and her technical expertise in photographing a subject, but I believe her real gift is in her ability to capture and elicit authentic moments. We had her photograph our 3 kids, and before she started taking any photos, she took time to connect with each of them. She's an endearing person, and as a result, her connection with people is what shines through in her photographs. Some of my favorite photos were those she captured in between; the unstaged images of a familiar smirk or just their innocent youth looking back at you. Her photos are the tangible version of the images you hold dearly in your mind.
