Can Dickerson is a professional freelance photographer, located in Durham North Carolina, specializing in portraiture and editorial photography. Her style consists of rich vibrant colors, and energetic communication between her subjects. A native of Turkey, she went to college in Ankara, Paris, and the US. Her multicultural background is reflected on her editorial and portraiture photography. In 1993, Can became a military spouse, and began to move all over the world with her husband. During that time, her two hobbies, photography and traveling, became important aspects of her life. She began entering different photography contests as a hobby, winning the first place in the color print/people category organized by Shutterbug, and an Honorable Mention at the U.S. Air Force Photography Contest in Europe. With the birth of her two children, Can’s hobbies shifted as her children became her new focus in life. This new status led her to experiment photography in documenting life and moments. Just a few years ago, the family settled in North Carolina where Can decided to pursue her photography career and opened her photography business and studio where she can accommodate her customers. In March 2015, Can finished her Digital Image Management Certificate program, in Photography Department at The Art Institute of Raleigh-Durham, in order to better serve her clients with the latest and most advanced techniques. She is regularly hired by families in the Triangle area, especially Morrisville, Cary and Durham.
